VALERIE & SIMON – TEWIN BURY FARM
Val and Simon held their at Tewin Bury Farm wedding on a lovley summer day. Simon and I have worked together for over ten years so it was a huge pleasure to photograph his wedding. Tewin Bury is a working farm and which dates back to the 17th century. More recently, many of the buildings have been converted to create a spectacular hotel and wedding venue. Val and Simon held their ceremony and wedding breakfast in the gorgeous Tythe Barn. It boasts exposed beams, a beautiful oak floor and also a rather handy mezzanine which gave me a great view over the space.
I met Val for the first time a couple of months before the wedding. The three of us talked through our combined ideas over pizza and a few beers. Natural photography is what they both wanted and with just a few relaxed shots of close family together. Val wasn’t keen on having any photos of her getting ready so I began with Simon greeting their guests as they arrived.
Everything went beautifully, the venue staff were fully focused on getting things right. The weather on our side; a little too warm if anything and a wonderful combination of the couple’s family and friends helped the couple celebrate. The venue has lots of outdoor space for people to chat, mingle and kids to play either side of the wedding breakfast. After cutting the cake, Val and Simon were centre stage for their first dance before the celebrations really got going. Get going they did. Music from the band packed the dance floor from start to finish which was fantastic to photograph – as Simon said “everyone brought their A game!” Are you planning your Tewin Bury Farm wedding?
