GEMMA & ADAM – BARNSGATE MANOR
Gemma and Adam held their wedding at Barnsgate Manor in the East Sussex countryside. Firstly, after they got in touch, I met Gemma and Adam for a drink at the restaurant which Gemma manages. We got on really well and talked about their wedding plans. A few specifics about their day and in addition, they had a good look through some of my albums from previous weddings. Looking through my work in print gives you a good idea of how I put a story together. Furthermore, you can see what a complete set of images will look and feel like.
Having sorted out booking details we arranged to have a look at the venue. Walking around Barnsgate Manor we talked about the order of the day, arranged for the seating during the ceremony to be moved very slightly to allow me a greater range of angles and discussed possible locations for a few group photos on the day.
I spent the morning of the day itself with Gemma and her bridesmaids. Documenting them getting ready before heading to the venue in good time for her arrival there. The wedding breakfast and speeches followed the ceremony and afterwards, guests had lots of time and space to chat and drink before the evening celebrations began. Adam mentioned that Gemma had created the edible floral decorations on the cake herself which were incredible. Indistinguishable from the real thing.
The evening was great fun and following the couple’s first dance, the dance floor was in full flow. Part way through, Gemma and her mum slowed things down a little by singing an acoustic number. It left very few dry eyes in the venue! I stayed till the couple left and took my last few shots as they were getting into the car – it was a great day and a pleasure to be a part of.
